Everyday I aim to lead my team to deliver a seamless production
I believe each production or organization in which I am involved tells a story that is important to the audience’s understanding of the world around them. I want the audience to leave with an understanding and/ or insight they may not have thought about before. Whether a theatrical experience, concert, art installation, or cultural festival, my goal is to use the skills I have acquired and my creative talents to help an organization’s stories have impact. To accomplish this, I:
-
Strive to create a safe and respectful place where ideas and creativity can flow freely without prejudice.
-
Aim to breathe life into a stage or event’s story.
-
Work effectively in collaboration with the creative and administrative team.
-
Use the talents, tools, and skills of an effective communicator.
To accomplish the goals set forth above, it is necessary to master the skills of managing and manipulating interactions. Those interactions may be between personalities or egos, between hardware and software, or between the physical and virtual space. Paperwork / software and other tools can form a structural base for the performers and crew to perform their duties and help ensure all technical aspects run on time. I have found:
-
The cast, crew, and management must understand, I am confident in my areas of responsibility.
-
I must use my conflict resolutions skills to respond to and resolve personnel conflicts.
-
I must use my capability and expertise to solve technical issues.
-
I must use my ability to react quickly to situations by finding resolutions when inevitable issues arise.
